The Space
Hillgrove Cottage has two bedrooms with a queen bed in each room, making the accommodation suitable for a maximum of 4 people. The house is over 100 years old and offers original features such as the ball and claw bathtub in the bathroom, and a combustion wood fire in the living room. The fireplace combined with oil heaters in the bedrooms, keeps the house nice and cosy during the cooler months, all rooms also include ceiling fans to keep you comfortable all year round.
Along with your gorgeous queen size bedroom, you have access to the large bathroom, lounge and dining areas.
Interaction with Guests
The owner of the property lives on site in a separate part of the house. But is available to answer any questions you may have. Breakfast will be provided at the time that suits you each morning.
The Neighbourhood
Located one block from Armidale hospital, the train station, less than three kilometres from UNE and 1km from the centre of town. The cottage is on a quiet street within short walking distance of two parks. Just around the corner from local eateries and convenience stores.
Getting Around
On-street parking is available on the quiet street. Buses into town or out to the uni are only a few hundred metres away.
Other Things to Note
We’ve gone to a lot of effort to make the accommodation a home away from home. There are lots of little touches to give the place a certain old-fashioned style. While it is pet-friendly, unfortunately, it’s not kid friendly and would best suit mature travellers looking for accommodation.
Pets are allowed, and can sleep inside on their own bedding in one of the bedrooms allocated. They have access to an enclosed front yard. As much as we love meeting & interacting with your dog, we do not allow pets to be left unattended by their owner on the property during the day, but don’t mind if they are left in the house for a reasonable time if the owners want to go out for a meal at night.
Smoking is allowed outside the building.
Check-in time is 3pm, check-out is 11am.
We only ask that you treat the place as you would your own, be conscious of noise levels for the neighbours and be as tidy as possible.
Hi, your place sounds terrific. My sister and I would like to get away for a couple of days in May. Either driving from Toowoomba on Friday and staying that night and Saturday or, coming down
Saturday and leaving Monday. Is there any weekend which is free? 14/15, 21/22 or 28/29? I have a Lab and Marg has a little Chihuahua. Many thanks.

Hi Darlene, unfortunately we’ve been booked out for that weekend for several months. Best of luck finding accommodation as it’s a very busy weekend in Armidale. You may need to look at surrounding areas or try Airbnb. If you haven’t used Airbnb before this link will be able to give you a discount once you make a booking. https://www.airbnb.com.au/c/kthomas24
